With so much natural devastation such as tornados, fire, hurricanes, and other unforeseen events, the church has become more than a place of worship. It has become a place for pastoral care during times of disaster. Offering emotional and spiritual care to someone can be difficult during a tragedy. How do you provide care for someone who has just lost everything? How do you console grieving parents who have lost a child?
Today, more than ever, emergency services are looking to the chaplain for pastoral and emotional care during a time of need. When emergency services knock on your door during a disaster, are you equipped to meet the demand?
Here at CTI, we have trained hundreds of pastors, chaplains, and church laity to meet that demand. We will teach you chaplaincy the right way with more than 30 years of chaplain experience. Our unique training program explores the world of law enforcement, fire, prisons, hospital ministry through the lens of chaplaincy. As a student, you will explore chaplaincy's theoretical, operational components while learning from experienced chaplains with real-world experience.
Students will learn the basics of Christian counseling. Imagine learning how to read body language (Para-Linguistic Communication) to reveal what a person is thinking in times of despair. Students will learn helpful communication techniques when dealing with police, prison, and other emergency services personnel. Learn to avoid the pitfalls that get a chaplain fired due to a lack of experience and much more.
We offer two in-classroom models:
ONE WEEK WORKSHOPS
For those having Key West on their budget list, you can stay at our church campus (bunkhouse) and complete the 29 hours of training in a week.
ONE MONTH WORKSHOPS
